On that day, the grand vizier’s son-in-law, the revered vizier Chancellor Mustafa Pasha, was commissioned to have a private conference with the aforementioned Austrian ambassador. For that reason, the ambassador was invited to the chancellor’s waterfront mansion situated on the Anatolian side. The chief of the scribes was also present at the meeting. Following the conference, they ate the mid-afternoon meal together. When the ambassador was about to leave, a [length of] embroidered fabric, an embroidered cotton handkerchief, and a handkerchief made of heavy fabric(?) were wrapped up together and handed to the ambassador. His chief secretary and five or six members of his inner circle were each given a [length of] embroidered fabric. A few days later, the admiral also invited the ambassador and organized a feast.
