Driesch's account, however, the festive gathering was intentionally organized at a location approximately one-thousand steps away from the Austrian ambassador's residence, that is, at a location extremely close to where Virmont resided with his entourage. Driesch claimed that the Grand Vizier Nevşehirli Ibrahim Pasha's intention was to meet the Austrian ambassador, but since an Ottoman grand vizier's visit to a European ambassador was unheard of, the grand vizier pretended the occasion to be a coincidence.
