Therefore, at dawn, the agha of the palace ushers, with his ceremonial turban (selimi) and ceremonial cloak, mounted a horse equipped with an imperial ceremonial harness. The secretary of palace ushers and the intendant of palace ushers with their mücevveze (a turban of many plaited folds) and ceremonial cloaks, and forty to fifty palace ushers with their mücevvezes, arrived at the aforementioned place. For the ambassador’s ride, a horse was sent that was equipped with a ceremonial saddle and a silk cover. For his inner circle and entourage one hundred and thirty saddled horses were sent. Following a half-hour long conversation, sherbet (sweet drink) and frankincense was served. After that, the ambassador was dressed with a sable fur lined with silk, gold, and silver threaded fabric which had cloak-style sleeves, while his noblemen were dressed with cloaks at the same location.
