The appointment of the ambassador to Austria, previously the sultan’s sword keeper, Ibrahim Agha’s mission and departure [hereby] announced in the year 1719. The date of departure is April 19, 1719.
When the aforementioned Ibrahim Agha arrived to the royal court [in Istanbul], he was granted the honorary rank of Governor General of (Rumili) and [he] was commissioned to leave on the Persian New Year.[1] During his visit to the court for an audience one month before his departure, he paraded with the rank of a vizier [and was] followed by six footmen, cupbearers, and musketeers. [He was] preceded by the commander of the palace gatekeepers and the master of ceremonies. The aforementioned [Ibrahim] arrived alone at the gate with a ceremonial cloak on him and, as he was commanded to follow the lieutenant in whichever direction the latter went, he did so. In this year, on April 19, Thursday (29 Cemaziyülevvel 1131), he with his entourage, paraded and set out on their journey to the direction of their appointment [to Vienna].[2]
