(The ambassador) requested my imperial decree so that, as they arrive and enter into the administrative territory of whomever among you, when they are on the road, at stations, and during the stages of the journey, [no one] shall interfere with his and his men’s passing and attack their garments or their flock of animals. No one shall injure them in violation of the imperial letter of agreement (ʿahdnāme-i ḥumāyūn) with claims of tribute, under other pretexts, or with claims of money. Each of you shall pay attention and take great care of sending and delivering them safe and sound among each other. My illustrious edict has been issued for all of you to act in the described way.
