Comment:Ekaterina Hadzhi Decheva, wife of Captain Rayco Nikolov. At the time she was a widow. Captain Rayco Nikolov (1840 - 1885) was a volunteer in the Serbo-Ottoman War of 1878, and an officer in the Bulgarian voluntary army units during the Russo-Ottoman War of 1877-1878. He took an active part in preparing the 1885 unification of the Principality of Bulgaria and the, at the time, Ottoman province of Eastern Rumelia.
