Description:Full length shot of a man in rural clothes with military elements and accouterments. He is wearing traditional peasant shoes (tsarvuli) and a fur cap, and he is holding a gun with a bayonet. He is standing between two artificial rocks in front of a painted canvas backdrop, which illusionistic depicts a mountain landscape.
Comment:Ilia Markov Popgeorgiev (1805 - 1898), better known as Ilyo Voyvoda or Dedo Ilyo Maleshevski, was a Bulgarian revolutionary from Macedonia, who is considered a national hero in both Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia.
