Description:Full length shot of a man in a greatcoat with a fur cap.
Comment:Stefan Stambolov (1854 - 1895) was a Bulgarian politician, a deputy at the Bulgarian Founding Assembly of 1879, Vice Chairman and later Chairman of the Bulgarian Parliament. In 1886 Stambolov became Regent until the proclamation of Ferdinand of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha as Knyaz of the autonomous Principality of Bulgaria in 1887, and Prime Minister for seven years (1887 - 1894). Stambolov died on July 6, 1895 victim of an assassination against him. VASE.00254 and VASE.00255 are identically, probably made by Anastas Karastoyanov in Belgrade in 1877, affixed later on cardboards by Anastas' sons Ivan and Dimitar Karastoyanov.
