Comment:Dr. Vojislav Subotić, who called himself Subbotic (1859, Novi Sad – 1923, Belgrade), was a famous Belgrade surgeon and one of the founders of the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade, where he also taught. He is considered the "father of modern surgery in Serbia". His father, Jovan Subotić (1817–1886), was a lawyer, politician and a well-known poet and writer, considered one of the most important Serbian authors.
