Comment: | Both Milorad Gavrilović (1861–1931) and Milorad Petrović (1865, Šabac – 1928, Skopje) were stage actors at the Royal Serbian National Theatre in Belgrade. The former was also the manager of the theater and became known as "The Old Gentleman", while the latter played the leading role in the first Serbian silent film, "Life and Deeds of Immortal Vožd Karađorđe", in 1911. Janko Veselinović (1862, Salaš Crnobarski – 1905, Glogovac) was a writer who dedicated himself to writing novels and short stories about life in the latter half of the 19th century. He also worked as associate editor and as editor for the "Srpske Novine" and "Zvezda" newspapers. He wrote plays for the Royal Serbian National Theatre in Belgrade, where he also worked as a dramatic adviser. |
