---|---|
Description: | Full-length shot of a man dressed in traditional attire of Banat. He is holding 'gajde'(bagpipes) in his left hand. He is posing with props (a wooden fence and artificial rocks), which in combination with a painted canvas backdrop create the impression of the scene being set outdoors. |
Comment: | Riđokosa' (The Redhead) was a popular folk play which incorporates singing, similar to Janko Veselinović's and Dragomir Brzak's 'Đido' or Toth's and Deskasev's 'Seoska lola' (A Village Carouser). Petar "Pera" Dobrinović (Belgrade, 1853 – Novi Sad, 1923) was an actor and director at the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad and at the Royal Serbian National Theatre in Belgrade. Before becoming one of the greatest actors on the Serbian stage, he worked as a journeyman in his father's barbershop in the centre of Belgrade. |
