Profile view studio portrait of a man

Description:Profile head shot of a young man in a dark coat.
Comment:The man in the picture is most probably Prince Božidar Karađorđević (1862, Belgrade – 1908, Versailles), grandson of Karađorđe and son of Đorđe Karađorđević and Sarka, who was the daughter of the richest Serb at the time, Captain Miša Anastastijević. Božidar lived in France for most of his life as the members of the Karađorđević dynasty were in exile after Prince Aleksandar Karađorđević lost the Serbian throne in 1858. He was a gifted artist and writer and earned his living as an art critic and translator.
