Comment: | Ana Jurišić, née Jovanović (1888, Kragujevac – 1956, Belgrade) was Mihailo P. Jovanović' daughter. Mihailo was an attorney and served as Mayor of Belgrade, Minister of Justice 1903–1905 and as Head of the Court of Cassation in Belgrade from 1908 on. He was also the first representative of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia at the International Court in Den Haag. In 1908 Ana married Captain Pantelija Ž. Jurišić (1881, Mačva – 1960, Belgrade), later to become General of the Royal Army, who was the son of the prominent Serbian naturalist Živojin Jurišić. Amongst other things, Živojin was the founder of the Natural Science Museum of Serbian Land (which is now the Natural History Museum) and the Serbian Botanical Society. |
