Description:Half-length shot of a seated elderly man wearing a dark formal suit, a white dress shirt and two crosses of merit around his neck. He is also adorned with other insignia of honor and rank (Order of St. Sava 2nd rank, Order of the White Eagle 4th rank and Order of the star of Karađorđe second rank). He is holding a hat and a pair of gloves on his knee. There is a wooden table with books next to him. He has been photographed against a dark background.
Comment:Mihailo P. Jovanović (1855, Kragujevac – 1944, Belgrade) was an attorney and served as Mayor of Belgrade, Minister of Justice (1903–1905) and as head of the Court of Cassation in Belgrade (as of 1908). He was also the first representative of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia at the International Court in The Hague.
