Comment: | Pantelija Ž. Jurišić (1881, Mačva–1960, Belgrade) was the son of the prominent Serbian natural scientist Živojin Jurišić, who, among other things, was the founder of the Natural Science Museum of Serbian Land (which is now the Natural History Museum) and of the Serbian Botanical Society. This photograph was taken before Pantelija enrolled in the Military Academy. Pantelija later became General of the Royal Army. In World War I he was leading the Drina and Mačva Divisions. |
