Description:Half-length shot of the seated Orthodox Metropolitan. He is wearing a Serbian Orthodox liturgical vestment and a clerical hat as well as a large cross around his neck. His vestment is adorned with many insignia of honor and medals. He is holding a chaplet in his left hand.
Comment:Archbishop of Belgrade and Serbian Metropolitan Mihailo (secular name: Miloje Jovanović 1826, Soko Banja – 1898, Belgrade) was the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church during the rule of Miloš, Mihailo, Milan and Aleksandar Obrenović. The photograph was re-printed, which is why there are two different card mounts.
