Object:Group portrait of five men playing cards
Description:Full-length shot of five elderly men seated around a table with coffee cups and a glass of water. Three of them are holding playing cards in their hands, while one is smoking a cigarette. The fifth's one's hands cannot be seen. At the bottom of the photograph there are numbers referring to the individual people portrayed, whose names are given on the back of the picture. A painted canvas backdrop is creating the impression of the scene being set in a drawing room with a large bookshelf.
Comment:Among the people in the photograph is Nikola Stevanović, retired Mayor of the Municipality of Belgrade and of the Assembly of the City of Belgrade, who served in this function twice (1896–1896 and 1897–1899). The text on the verso is written in German.
