Comment: | Lujka Vlajić, who married Agostin (Ago) Bukovac, son of the famous Croatian realist painter Vlaho Bukovac (1855, Cavtat – 1922, Prague), was the daughter of Zorka Vlajić, née Miljković, president of the Maternity Association, founded in 1904. Lujka's brother, Božidar Vlajić (1888–1974), was to become a famous politician (member of the Yugoslav Democratic Party) in interwar Yugoslavia. After WWII he remained in Great Britain as an emigrant (the Communist Party, which came into power, banned the Democratic Party; its members were persecuted). He was one of the founders of the "Democratic Alternative". |
