Prince Alexandr Mikhailovich Dondukov-Korsakov

Comment:Prince Alexandr Mikhailovich Dondukov-Korsakov (1820, St. Petersburg – 1893, Polonaia) was the son of Prince Mikhail Aleksandrovich Korsakov (1794–1869) and Princess Maria Nikitichna Dondukova-Korsakova. As of 1869 he served as General Adjutant and as of 1878 as General of the Cavalry. He took part in the Caucasian War, the Crimean War and the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–78. As of 1878–1879 he was Russia's Supreme Commissar in Bulgaria and helped draft the organizational statutes on which the first Bulgarian constitution was based. According to a hand-written inscription on the back, the photo was taken by Iv. N. Karastojanov. Photograph kept in Anastas Jovanović's album.
