| Description: | Scene in King Peter Street (Kralja Petra, today M. Mustafe Bašeskije). In the centre of the picture is the blurred figure of a pedestrian. He is passing a man in a jacket and hat, seen from the back. On the sidewalk opposite are three young men in suits, heads uncovered, two of them carrying leather briefcases under their arms. Behind them, a wooden fence is completely plastered with identical posters advertising ‘Bata’ shoes. The upper half of the photograph is dominated by a large advertisement for Božidar S. Mlinarević’s ‘First Yugoslav furrier’s workshop’. |
| Comment: | The advertisment reads: ‘Vesta fabrika kapa, šubara i šešira. Prva jugoslovenska krznarska radnja Božidar S. Mlinarević. Ustanovljena 1909. Bogato stovarište gotovih mantlova. Diječiji kaputa, boa od lisica, kunica, tvorova, nercova te drugih na skladištu kožica u svima bojama za kragne, manžete, postave. Šubara od perzijanera od besarapskog i poluperzijane i od janjećih koža. Primam na izradu mantleva dječijih kaputa, boa od lisica i sve krznarske stvari. Preuzimam na bojenje čišćenje svakog bijelog krzna. Naročita pažnja lovcima: Izrađujem tepihe sa glavom od medveda, vuka, vepra, divokoze, jazavca i srne.’ Analogue photographic process, negative-positive (Agfa Isopan 17 DIN). Original preserved as a positive on silver bromide paper, stored as a print and a digital record. |
