Description:Outdoor upper body shot of a group of Catholic peasants in traditional costume chatting in Baščaršija. The camera is focused on a smiling young man in a black fur cap (šubara) surrounded by two young girls with white scarves falling down their backs, and an older woman with a dark headscarf tightly wrapped around her chin.
Comment:The loose white scarves worn down the back indicate that the girls are unmarried. The dark scarf wrapped around the chin indicates a married woman. The costumes are from the surroundings of Sarajevo. Analogue photographic process, negative-positive (Agfa Isopan 17 DIN). Original preserved as a negative and a positive on silver bromine paper, stored in the form of a print, negative and digital record.
