Object:Fruit vendor in Baščaršija
Description:A white-bearded man is squatting on a low willow stool in Baščaršija selling fruit from two large baskets in front of him. He is neatly dressed in a loose, white shirt underneath a sleeveless jacket, with an ahmedija wrapped around his head and woollen stockings and opanci on his feet. A large shoulder bag hangs to his left, while his left hand is holding a stick lying over the baskets. He is looking straight over the baskets in front of him, seemingly unaware of the photographer. There is also an umbrella lying on the baskets. A second white-bearded man is standing behind the baskets, tasting the fruit, looking away both from the camera and the seller. He wears traditional Bosniak urban clothes, including čakšire, jelek, a shawl wrapped around his waist as a belt, and an ahmedija. A passer-by dragging a cart loaded with wood is watching the scene. In the background, people are gathered in front of a 'kahva' kahvehane and shops in Baščaršija.
Comment:The fruit the old man is selling is visible in the buyer’s left hand, it seems to be a peach. Analogue photographic process, negative-positive (Agfa Isopan 17 DIN). Original preserved as a negative and positive on silver bromine paper, stored as a print, negative and digital record.
