Well-wishers on the King's birthday in front of the Belgrade Municipality building

Description:A group of men pose in Uzun Mirko Street in front of the Beogradska opština, all holding a white sheet or brochure in their hands. In the front row are five men in rich national garb from Dalmatia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, flanked by two men in top hats and dark coats on the left, and by a man in a plaid coat and another in a bowler hat to the right. Behind them, the heads of more men are visible, mostly in top hats or bowler hats, one wearing a Montenegrin cap.
Comment:The photograph appeared on 18 December 1929 in the newspapers Vreme and Politika in the frame of reports on King Aleksandar's 41st birthday celebrations. It features delegates from the Sava and the Littoral banovinas, who were selected, along with several hundred others from all regions of Yugoslavia, to attend a formal dinner given in the hotels 'Srpski Kralj' and 'Kasina'. The delegates congratulated the King on his birthday, expressing their allegiance, loyalty and sincere commitment to Yugoslavia.
