According to the newspaper, the young man had just given a speech in front of Galata Tower advocating the ruling party in the elections that started on 5 October 1930. The elections were marked by the politically engineered creation of an opposition party in the summer the same year, the Free Republican Party, which was subsequently dissolved on 15 November 1930. |
