Object:Spectators on a stand in Taksim Stadium
Description:Several hundred spectators are tightly packed on a roofed and slightly elevated stand. They are attentively following the events taking place. The crowd is predominantly male, most of the men and women are wearing long coats and hats, or are holding hats in their hands. The playing field extends away from the stand.
Comment:The photograph accompanied a sports article in Cumhuriyet. The spectators are watching the Galatasaray vs. Fenerbahçe football game in Taksim stadı on 30 November 1930. The article gives an attendance figure of close to five thousand. The game ended in a 0-0 draw.
