Object:Selahattin Giz in football dress
Description:Cumhuriyet photographer Selahattin Giz is crouched down in front of a wooden handrail, smiling. He is wearing a white football shirt displaying the letters ‘M’ and ‘T’, and shorts. Behind the handrail stand two officers, one smiling, the other standing upright in a formal manner and looking rather stern. A third man in a white trench coat is leaning over the handrail.
Comment:Selahattin Giz is wearing the dress of the Press Football Team (Matbuat Takımı). Cumhuriyet reported on the team on various occasions, sometimes quite extensively. Apart from Selahattin Giz, in the articles referred to as ‘Foto Salâhaddin’, senior Cumhuriyet photographer Namık Görgüç was also on the team as its goalkeeper.
