"TRČIMO ŠE ENKRAT VSI - ŽIVILI SLOVANI - BRATJE NAŠE SO KRVI - BOG NAM JIH OHRANI"
| Location | Zidani Most (Zidani most / Steinbrück) |
| Description | Illustration of three men representing Slovenes, Croats, and Serbs seated around a table and toasting with a drink poured from a pitcher labeled with the letters SHS (Serbs, Croats, Slovenes). Above them, God emerges from the clouds to give the union His blessing. Below is a rhyme in the caption declaring: "We'll cheer once more / Long live the Slavs / Our brothers by blood / May God bless them." |
| Comment | Produced by the Katoliška Tiskarna in Ljubljana and sent from Zidani Most. A rubber stamp on the verso reads, "In commemoration of the unveiling of a memorial plaque in honor of Dr. Janez Evangelista Krek in Št. Janž in Dolenjska, August 8, 1918." Postcards like these were referred to as deklaracijske razglednice [declaration postcards] because they declared support for the May Declaration of 1917 and were produced in 1917 or 1918, near the end of the Habsburg Monarchy. The May Declaration was an open call read by the chairman of the Yugoslav Club in the Viennese parliament for the creation of a Yugoslav state within the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Surprisingly, the postcard escaped government censorship. |
