- 1 -Decree to the judge of Galata
Graf Wolfgang [IV.] zu Oettingen[-Wallerstein]-may his days come to a favorable end- who is currently at my imperial seat of felicity as the grand ambassador of the Roman emperor, submitted a letter to me. Accordingly, in the village called […] at Galata, there is a church that belongs to the zımmi community that resides. The petition stated that, with the passage of time, some parts of the church have fallen into ruin.
[The ambassador] requested my sultanic decree to authorize an investigation by the religious authority and the issuance of a document of proof (hüccet) regarding the outcome of that investigation. Accordingly, this decree orders the religious authority to carry out the investigation.
