Project partners have granted the Institute for Habsburg and Balkan Studies of the Austrian Academy of Sciences permission to publish facsimile data within the QhoD project. Employees of this publically funded institution took images of archival sources or collected digitized items, and created descriptive metadata. The contents of the archival sources are not subject to copyright restrictions under Austrian law (Urheberrechtsgesetz), as the creators both of their ideal contents and their documentary material objects passed away more than 70 years ago (§§60-61 UrhG), and these materials are considered documents for official use (§7 UrhG). Decree to the judges, aides-de-camp of janissary commanders, janissary captains, voivodes who administer sultanic fiefs, and other provincial notables and functionaries stationed along the route from my imperial seat of felicity to Belgrade: Previously, during the time of war and conflict [with Austria], captives were taken. In accordance with the terms of the peace and reconciliation treaty and my sultanic letter of agreement, those captives, whose conversion to Islam has been investigated and not been confirmed in the signed and sealed register issued by the religious authorities, have been ransomed and released by the grand ambassador of the Austrian emperor at my imperial seat of felicity, Graf Wolfgang (IV) zu Oettingen(-Wallerstein). Should these fifty non-Muslim captives, together with nine Austrians assigned to accompany them, happen to arrive in and pass through any of your jurisdictions or areas of authority, then you are to assign a sufficient number of men to escort them in secure and safe conditions from one jurisdiction to the next.
