Decree to İbrahim Pasha, the former commander-in-chief of the imperial fleet in the Black Sea, who is now appointed as grand ambassador to Austria with the honorary rank of governor-general of Rumelia:

It has been reported through a letter sent by the grand ambassador appointed by the emperor of Austria to my felicitous court that it has been five to ten days since his departure from Vienna. Now, you are the aforsaid commander of commanders (mīr-i mīrān); your time has also come for you to proceed toward your designated destination as per the mission assigned to you.

Upon receipt of this imperial command, God willing, you shall set out on the 10th day of October due to your appointment and proceed to the assigned destination. The long-standing customs regarding the exchange of ambassadors [at the border] shall be observed in the customary manner at the designated place, as deemed appropriate by my vizier, Ali Pasha, the governor of Belgrade. The ambassador of the other side shall proceed toward this direction, and you shall head toward Vienna.

You shall execute the ambassadorial service with full vigilance and discernment; you shall act with due diligence, in confirmity with the favorable and noble requirements of my royal will; you must be attentive in carrying out this mission with commendable conduct and ensure the successful completion of your duties. This imperial order has thus been issued to that effect.
