Decree to the chief judges of Bursa, İzmir, and Chios, to the judges of the fortresses on the Bosphorus, at Tenedos, and Lesbos, and to the judges of and , aides-de-camp of the janissaries, janissary guards, harbormasters, provincial notables, and functionaries within the aforementioned districts: Paragon of the great commanders of Christendom and pillar among their illustrious greats, Graf Wolfgang (IV) zu Oettingen(-Wallerstein)—may he end his days propitiously, who is the plenipotentiary and grand ambassador of the empire and a confidant and member of the privy chamber of the most esteemed among the great commanders of Christendom, the elite of the illustrious magnates in the community of the Messiah, the possessor of the symbols of majesty and dignity, the Roman Emperor, has submitted a petition to my felicitous court. Graf [Ferdinand?] von Breuner, one of the Austrian nobles who came with [the grand ambassador], wishes to travel and visit the attractions in the cities of Bursa, Chios, and İzmir, as well as in the other aforementioned districts. Accompanied by two attendants, wherever he enters your respective seats of government and districts, accommodate him in suitable places, provide food and drink at current market prices in exchange for payment, and ensure that no one hinders him from visiting the places he wishes to see. Along the roads, in the stations, and during the journey, neither he nor his belongings and animals should be interfered with; he should not be troubled by demands for tribute or other levies contrary to the imperial letter of agreement. Provide protection and safety, ensuring that he is passed along from one of you to the next in complete security and well-being. At the request of the ambassador for my imperial decree on this matter, I order that the aforementioned measures be implemented. So is the decree. 28 June–7 July 1700
