vecḥ-i meşrūḥ üzere ʿamel olunmaḳ bābında fermān-ı ʿālī-şānum ṣādır olmışdur buyurdum ki . vuṣūl bulduḳda bu bābda ṣādır olan fermān-ı celīlü’l-ḳadrim .mūcibince ʿamel eyleyüb daḫı ilçi-i mūmā ileyhüñ vec h-i meşrūḥ üzere İstanbul×a ḳarīb yerlerden beher müdresi 10 onar vuḳiyye olmaḳ üzere bir defʿa aḳcasıyla iştirā eyledüġi yedi biñ müdre ḫamrı ḳonaġına naḳl eyledükde . Decree to the Agha of the Janissaries, İbrahim Agha×—may his acclaim endure—and to the chief gardener of the imperial court—may his glory endure:
The aforementioned envoy× has submitted a petition to my imperial court, requesting permission for his men to procure wine from areas near Istanbul×. Permission was granted for a one-time purchase of seven thousand müdres [] of wine, each müdre consisting of ten okka.[1] The wine is to be transported to the envoy’s residence in Galata×. During the transportation, the Galata× voivode, superintendents, and officers are not to demand any customs fees, taxes, levies, or tributes, nor should they seek payment under any other pretext. The envoy× has requested my imperial command to ensure that no one obstructs the transportation of the wine.
In response, my honorable edict has been issued, commanding that these instructions be followed accordingly. I have ordered that upon the receipt [of this edict], you are to act in compliance with this decree of great dignity issued on this matter. When the envoy transports the seven thousand medres of wine purchased from areas near Istanbul×, no customs fee, taxes, levies, or tributes shall be demanded by the Galata× voivode, superintendents, or officers, nor should anyone obstruct the transportation. Be mindful that the quantity should not exceed the specified amount, and that there should be no possibility of purchasing wine more than once per year. So shall you know! 30 May–8 August 1700
