Many thanks for the WZKM. It is delightful to find a serious contributor to the Meriotic problems. But I wish that you had seen the large collection of stelae in Karanôg which proves that and lêwi and ye and te are applicable to masc. and fem. alike.

[einscannen]1 appears to be the equivalent of ȝ and I have suggested Inscr. II p. 32 that 4534λsȝ is the equivalent of tzahv‘-lMn but your suggestion is perhaps better: at least it gives a good sense. Arq-‘Mn should be ι¬ȝw9z which combination does occur in Meriotici (Kat.).

ΜΕΔδOYN is really „service“, copl. MNTσαVOH, and hence also „servant“. TOYCKANTE puzzles me, but in TOYCKON, TOYCKO is certainly „Three“. I hope to work out the Nubian within this winter, but shall hardly have the book ready to send to Berlin before loaning2
