Description:The colour photograph shows the entrance of the ‘Festival’ cinema in an unknown location in Romania. Two young women are passing by. The red writing in the bottom right corner says ‘metropotam.ro’.
Comment:The photograph must be from the early 21st century stands for Romania’s cinema extinction after 1989. The compound ‘metropotam’, coined from the English/Romanian words metropolis / metropola and hippopotamus / hipopotam, was created to define a new form of urban leisure activities.
