Comment:Yılmaz Güney was a Turkish film director, screenwriter and novelist. Kurdish by origin, he produced movies in Turkish. In 1982, he won the Palme d’Or with the film ‘Yol’ (The way) at the Cannes Film Festival. At odds with the Turkish government, he fled the country and later lost his citizenship.
