Description:The atelier photograph shows Fuat Uzkınay in uniform and with a moustache.
Comment:Fuat Uzkınay is believed to be the first Turkish filmmaker. While in the army, on 14 November 1914, he documented the destruction of a monument: ‘Ayastefanos'taki Rus Abidesinin Yıkılışı’ (Demolition of the Russian monument at San Stefano – Yeşilköy). This 150mt film is known as the first Turkish-made film.
