Description:The still photograph from the feature ‘Basejnăt’ (Swimming pool) shows a young woman in a room in the centre of the picture looking away from the camera. To her right, a taller man is looking down at her. A poster recalling Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘Mona Lisa’ is seen in the background to the left. A portrait of a woman behind her and a photograph depicting the eyes of a woman. All three pictures are hanging on a wall.
Comment:The feature was directed by Binka Željazkova (1923–2011) and released in 1977. Željazkova was one of Bulgaria’s few female directors.
