Object:The ‘Tomorri’ cinema in Tirana
Description:The picture shows the construction of the ‘Tomorri’ cinema in Tirana in approximately 1940. The plate under the roof on the right displays the name, ‘Cinema FFAA Costruzione Palini’. In the bottom right corner, five men in coats are standing, three of them wearing hats. One of them is looking towards the camera.
Comment:The inserted name ‘Luce’ (an Italian film and photo production company) indicates that the photograph was taken during the Italian occupation of Albania between 1939 and 1943. The men’s clothing indicates that it is winter.
