---|---|
Description: | The picture shows the interior of the ‘Savoja’ cinema in Tirana in approximately 1940. The wooden seats on the first floor are fitted with light-coloured slipcovers and grouped into two blocks separated by an aisle interrupted by row eight (counted from the front). |
Comment: | There was probably a separate entrance for the first eight rows of seats. The inscription ‘enica’ below the screen is the acronym for ‘Ente Nazionale Industrie Cinematografiche Albania’, which was founded in 1939 and responsible for film distribution under Italian occupation. |
