Object:Advertisement for the feature film ‘Along the Great Divide’
Description:The leaflet features a framed photograph of a man and woman, both looking just past the camera the camera and dressed western-style. He has a revolver in his right hand, pointing in the same direction. Their bodies are closely pressed together. He grasps her right shoulder with his left hand; her arms are clutched around his waist. A wooden wall is seen in the background, while behind the woman a hat rests on a pile of straw. The Serbo-Croatian film title ‘Pustinja straha’ (Desert of fear) is printed in the lower section – in the English original: ‘Along the Great Divide’.
Comment:In the corner top right the handwritten number 3 is attached, probably an outdated registration number. The film was directed by Raoul Walsh and was released in 1951. Kirk Douglas and Virginia Mayo play the leading roles.
