Object:Advertisement for the feature film ‘Ešalon doktora M.’
Description:The frameless leaflet features a photograph of a couple looking in the same direction. He is wearing a coat and scarf; she is in a white shirt and light-coloured waistcoat. Her hair is tied with a ribbon. The background is composed of a mountainous landscape, with horses and soldiers. The film’s German title, ‘Die Kolonne des Dr. M.’, is printed across the lower part of the photograph. In the top right corner is the logo of the magazine ‘Progress Filmillustrierte’.
Comment:The film was directed by Živorad Žika Mitrović, a Serb, who developed a specific genre known as the ‘Kosovo western’ or ‘partisan western’. The genre has the form of a western but features content typical for partisan films. The film was released in 1955. The magazine ‘Progress Filmillustrierte’ was produced by the German Democratic Republic.
