Description:The partly framed leaflet advertises a remake of Fritz Lang’s movie, ‘Dr. Mabuse’, in its upper section. The photograph in the lower section shows four men: one is lying on a kind of stretcher, another is standing to his left and another to his right, communicating. The fourth man in the background is standing with his back to the camera.
Comment:Rudolph Klein-Rogge played the role of Dr. Mabuse; Oskar Beregi played Prof. Dr. Baum, director of a psychiatric asylum; Theodor Loos was cast as Dr. Kramm and Otto Wernicke as Detective Superintendent Lohmann. The remake was based on‘Dr. Mabuse, der Spieler’ (Dr. Mabuse the gambler), released in 1922. ‘The Testament of Dr. Mabuse’ was released in 1933.
