Welcome to the Hugo Schuchardt Archiv
The Hugo Schuchardt Archiv gathers together material from and about Hugo Schuchardt (1842-1927), as well as from his scientific contacts, his milieu, and his background. The website provides numerous documents relating to his life, digitized versions of all his publications in their original form (accompanied by translations and reviews where available) as well as an extensive list of secondary literature. Particular attention has been given to the indexing of the correspondence, fully digitized, and of which a substantial extent is available as transcribed, edited, and commented texts. The manuscript collection, which is still in the early stages of scholarly research and editing, is now available as digitized scans. The contents of Schuchardt’s private library, in the process of reconstruction, can also be accessed. A thesaurus provides the indexing of topics through selected keywords.
