On Ahaz: Text and Manuscripts

Go to the Kings of Judah and Israel, Part 2 group, the Visual edition.

Iste achaz filium suum per ignem beennon traiecit; obsessus a rasin et facee , ysaie consolanti credere noluit , signum querere contempsit; qui, relicto deo, spe posita in teglafalasar , ornamenta templi diruit ; sub eo roma condita et ysaias onus babylonis uidit.
This Ahaz threw his son into the fire at Ben Hinnom. Besieged by Rezin and Pekah, he refused to believe the consolation of Isaiah and scorned asking for a sign. Abandoning God, he put his trust in Tigath-Pileser. He destroyed the temple ornaments. In his time Rome was founded and Isaiah foresaw the oppression by Babylon.

Image excerpts from the manuscripts (as grouped by main graph versions) are the result of tool-based image annotation (via Cadmus) or manual extraction. For each manuscript version only these visually annotated manuscripts are listed here. For the grouping of all manuscripts we provide a separate list (Manuscript groups). Transcriptions are semi-diplomatic following project specific rules.
