It was unveiled on 'Vidovdan' (St. Vitus Day and memorial day of the Battle of Kosovo) in 1904 in the presence of King Petar I Karađorđević. The sculptural elements of the monument were exhibited at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900. Made in the spirit of the French academism, the pyramidal composition with the dominant composition of the Kosovo hero Boško Jugović (one of the main characters of the Kosovo legend) and a fairy at the top, as well as the sculptures of a national poet and a girl (personification of Serbia) at the foot, the author presents the basic idea of Serbian centuries-long struggle for national freedom. Not specifiedCabinet165105SerbiaKruševac
