All are facing the camera, except the teenage boy at the lower end of the queue and the girl at the upper end. The teenage boy, wearing a cap and a shirt and tie under a jacket, is gesticulating and looking upwards, while the girl at the upper end has turned her head in the opposite direction. The staircase connects two of the upper floors via an elaborate landing, which forms the focus of the image. The photograph was published in Yeni Gün newspaper on 15 March 1931 along with an article entitled, ‘Burglar injures a housemaid!’  (Hizmetçiyi Yararlıyan hırsız!).
