Object:"Bulgarian bride"
Description:Half length studio shot of a woman wearing traditional clothes and a richly decorated headdress with two strings of coins coming down across her face. Her hair is braided into small braids which also partly cover her face. The woman is adorned with earrings, coin necklaces, and a belt with metal buckles. The front of her shirt is decorated with coins as are the shirt sleeves. The woman is wearing a leather vest.
Comment:Title is a translation of the given by the Austrian Museum of Folk Life and Folk Art title in German: "Bulgarische Braut." Related photograph is published under the title "From Sofia District" in the Bulgarian Almanac of 1894.
