Object:Studio portrait of a woman in folk attire
Description:Half length shot of a seated young woman wearing traditional attire and a belt with metal buckles. The woman is adorned with flowers in her hair, a necklace with coins, earrings, bracelets, and rings. She is holding a basket in the one hand and greenery in the other.
Comment:Given title by the Austrian Museum of Folk Life and Folk Art: "Bulgarin" (Bulgarian woman). The woman in the photograph is the same as the one in VASE.00451 and VASE.00820, which makes it possible to date the photograph. The photograph is published under the title "Female attire from Tsaribrod region" in the Bulgarian newspaper "Nasheto parvo izlozhenie" (Our First Fair), Plovdiv, 1892/43, 7.
