Object:Studio portrait of a woman and a man in folk attire
Description:Full length shot of a woman and a man standing hand in hand next to a fake fountain. They are both wearing traditional attire: The woman is adorned with a belt with metal buckles, necklaces, and earrings. She is wearing traditional peasant shoes (opanki) and holding a pitcher in her left hand. The man is wearing a fur cap and town shoes. A painted canvas backdrop is creating the illusion of the scene being set in a park.
Comment:Given title by the Austrian Museum of Folk Life and Folk Art: "Mann und Frau, Südbulgarien" (Man and woman, South Bulgaria). The decor is the same as in VASE.00451, which makes it possible to identify the photographer.
