Comment:The Monastery of Saint Ivan of Rila, better known as the Rila Monastery, is situated in the south-western Rila mountains. Founded in the 10th century, the Rila Monastery is regarded one of Bulgaria's most important cultural, historical, and architectural monuments. The oldest buildings in the complex are the Tower of Hrelyu (1334 – 1335) and a small church right next to it (1343).
